Second medical station in Papiu

The construction of our second hospital in Papiu-Kayanaú ensued in 2002.

In order to protect young Yanomami children against imported diseases, vaccinations against measles, yellow fever, chicken pox, rubella, mumps, etc. are administered.

Medical education at our station

Brazilian health care authorities provide our clinic with medication and medical staff. Nurses teach the Yanomami how to administer medical care and show them how to use microscopes.

In 2007, the medical station was repainted by the Yanomami and Christina Haverkamp.
